Para Transit & Accessibility

Paratransit Service Information

At Core Transit, we are committed to providing accessible transportation options for everyone. In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, we offer paratransit services, also known as “origin to destination” service, for individuals with functional limitations that prevent them from using our fixed-route buses.

Eligibility for Paratransit Service
This service is designed for trips that cannot be made on Core Transit fixed-route buses. If you believe you may qualify for paratransit service, please complete the Core Transit ADA Paratransit Eligibility Application – 2024. This application helps us assess when and under what circumstances you can utilize our fixed-route service, as well as when paratransit service is necessary.

Confidentiality and Use of Information
All information provided in this application will be used solely to facilitate curb-to-curb transportation services. We may share your information with other transit providers only if you request it for travel in other service areas. Rest assured, your information will not be shared with any other individuals or agencies.

For your convenience, you can download the application form HERE

Accessibility and Non-Discrimination Policies

Core Transit is accessible to persons with disabilities. Core Transit buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts or ramps that enable persons in wheelchairs or persons who cannot navigate steps to ride the bus. Operators are trained to assist riders to use lifts and ramps, and secure wheelchairs, as well as provide information on destinations served. You may travel with your respirator, and/or portable oxygen. Service animals are welcome on board buses and in our facilities. Public information is available in alternative formats upon request.

Reasonable Modification Policy

Passengers with disabilities may request modifications to current service procedures to access the service. To make a request, please call us at (970)328-3520, or email us at paratransit@CoreTransit.org. Please submit requests no later than 5 pm the previous day. Core Transit will not charge additional fees for passengers requiring reasonable modifications.

If you have a complaint about the accessibility of the transit system or service or believe you have been discriminated against because of your disability, you can file a complaint. Please provide all facts and circumstances surrounding your issue or complaint so we can fully investigate the incident.
